They specialize in children’s books. You can find them at 328 Montezuma Avenue. At Dumont Maps and Books of the West, you will find books, maps, fine art and prints. They specialize in Americana and Southwestern material, with special emphasis on government documents and expedition reports. They are located at 407 West San Francisco Street. Next to the Counter Culture Café, you will find Op.Cit. Books. They offer something for everyone by offering a very eclectic selection of books. Here you can also buy-sell-trade or even rent books! Currently they are at 930-C Baca Street but by the end of April of 2013, you will find them at their new location in the 500 block of Cerrillos Road. They are located at 839 Paseo de Peralta. You could spend a day at The Ark (a personal favorite). It is so much more than a book store. Some might call them a “new age bookstore” but they prefer to be known as an “alternative bookstore”. They are a bit hard to find at their 133 Romero Street location but it is worth the effort. Nicholas Potter Bookseller is more of a used-book store. In addition to their regular inventory, you will find a couple of locked cases for those books that that are truly rare. You can hang out and talk about books and authors at 211 E. Palace Ave. The Gerald Peters Gallery Bookstore is an eclectic mix. You will find that the book selection complements the exhibit schedule. There are also some books that are published in-house to promote their artists and exhibits, located at 1011 Paseo de Peralta. Book Mountain is located at 2101 Cerrillos Road. They are the only paperback-book exchange in Santa Fe. So bring in your old paperback-book and receive a store credit to procure your new read while on your New Mexico family vacation!
