New Mexico wineries, wines & tastings, Casa Escondida B&B, April 2012

New Mexico wineries, wines and wine tastings probably are not the first things that come to mind while a guest at our Santa Fe Area bed and breakfast.  However, Casa Escondida B&B, which is located in Chimayo, New Mexico (just 35 minutes north of Santa Fe) is surrounded by many wonderful, New Mexico vineyards. Believe it or not, this is wine country! It has been for centuries. New Mexico has a long and rich history as a winemaking region. As a matter of fact, it is the oldest wine producing region in the United States. Today’s wine growers have built upon this history, which has resulted in the production of award winning wines. New Mexico wineries produce over 700,000 gallons of wine each year. Casa Escondida B&B is a New Mexico bed and breakfast that is centrally located to many of the best vineyards in New Mexico. Create your own New Mexico wine festival by touring and tasting at the many wine tasting rooms, located at each winery! There are also guided winery tours available for a fee. Each winery is unique in terms of the appearance, as well as their offerings. Visiting these New Mexico wineries while a guest at Casa Escondida B&B, makes for a memorable, romantic getaway or weekend retreat. We happily provide our guests with winery tour maps to assist you in organizing your self-guided tour. Not a wine connoisseur? No problem. In addition to all of the great wine production here in New Mexico, you will also find some facilities producing wonderful distilled spirits and some really tasty beers as well. Cheers!
