Ski Santa Fe is usually open by the end of November and offers some of the most fun ski trails in Northern New Mexico. There are dozens of trails to choose from that accommodate nearly every skill level. Whether you’re a beginner or have been tearing up the slopes for years, you’ll be sure to find several trails that suit your fancy. Plus, there are seven available ski lifts that will transport you exactly where you need to go.
There is also an exciting Freestyle Terrain Park, also known as “The Bone Yard,” that offer beginner to intermediate challenges.
2. Taos Ski Valley
While the small village of Taos may be well-known for its extensive history and influence in the world of art, it’s also one of the top New Mexico ski towns. Expert skiers and snowboarders from all over the world have fallen in love with Taos’ legendary steeps, and it’s not difficult to understand why!
Taos Ski Valley is home to over 100 incredible ski trails, including newly-updated beginner’s runs and expert level hike-to-terrain locations. You’ll also find the Kachina Chair Lift (the nation’s 4th highest lift-served summit), dazzling mountain views, a snow tubing mountain, ski schools, and more. 3. Pajarito Mountain Ski Area
Nestled in the Jemez Mountains, Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is owned and operated by a non-profit organization and provides exciting outdoor activities all year round. During the winter season, 44 trails serviced by six lifts operate throughout the park for skiers of all skill levels. They also provide a brand new Magic Carpet service conveyor that is ideal for first-timers.
